New Family Guide

Everything you need to know for your dancer’s first season, from choosing a class to taking the stage.

1. Choose a class

Browse classes by age or the class schedule. Most dancers start in the class that matches their age. Not sure? Call the office and we’ll recommend one.

2. Register online

Register through our Parent Portal. A $10 registration fee is charged for each session, and tuition is billed monthly by auto pay on the 1st or the 10th. You’ll receive a statement on the 15th of the month before.

3. Get ready for the first class

  • Check the dress code for your dancer’s class. We carry shoes and dancewear at the front desk.
  • Arrive a few minutes early so your dancer can find their room.
  • Only water is allowed in the studios, and gum and food stay in the lobby.
  • Siblings must be with an adult at all times, and children wait inside the building for pick-up.
  • Watch class on the lobby viewing monitors. Teachers invite parents in at select times during the season.

4. Stay in the loop

We communicate mostly by email, so make sure the office has a valid email for you. You can add more than one (grandparents too). Follow us on Facebook and Instagram @emergecincinnati for class photos and closing notices, and check the studio calendar for breaks.

5. Take the stage

Recreational dancers perform twice a year: the Christmas Showcase in December and the One Emerge Showcase in June. Dancers in shows are automatically enrolled in the performance package, which covers costumes, tights, the showcase video and a show T-shirt in small monthly payments.
