Available Positions
STATUS: Part Time
As an Emerge Acro/Tumbling Instructor, you will lead structured acrobatics and tumbling classes for children of various ages and skill levels. Classes focus on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and safe skill progression, from beginner fundamentals through advanced tumbling. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching proper technique, ensuring student safety, and building positive relationships with both students and parents.
We offer both recreational and competitive programs for children ages 3 through high school. Instructors teaching recreational classes are expected to choreograph 2–3 minute acro/tumbling routines for our winter and summer showcases. Teachers may be asked to instruct at our White Oak and/or Harrison locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all Emerge curriculum and skill progressions while incorporating creative teaching techniques
- Prioritizes safety by teaching proper spotting, technique, and conditioning
- Arrives in appropriate athletic attire and allows adequate time for equipment set-up and breakdown
- Leads each class with enthusiasm and positivity to encourage participation, confidence, and growth
- Tracks weekly attendance and communicates regularly with office staff
- Choreographs routines for winter and summer showcases
- Communicates with parents regarding student progress and upcoming events
- Collaborates regularly with fellow Emerge instructors
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for working with children and teaching acro/tumbling
- Background in gymnastics, acrobatics, tumbling, cheer, or related disciplines
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong understanding of safe skill progressions and spotting techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students of all ages
- Open to feedback and committed to professional growth
- High energy, self-motivated, and positive attitude
- Demonstrates confidence, professionalism, and integrity
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with both children and parents
As an Emerge Dance Instructor you will lead a children’s dance class in various genres. Our classes include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop primarily with other specialties. Responsibilities include preparing for classes, teaching curriculum, and developing a positive rapport with all students and well as parents. We offer both recreation and competitive classes for children ages 3 thru high school level. Teachers of recreation classes are expected to choreograph 2-3 minute routines for our winter and summer shows. Teachers may be asked to teach at our White Oak and/or Harrison locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Comes to each class in proper dress code, and allows appropriate time for set up
- Teaches each class with enthusiasm and positivity that encourages student participation, interaction, and fun
- Take weekly attendance and communicates with office staff
- Choreograph routines for winter and summer show
- Communicates with parents about student progress and upcoming events
- Collaborates regularly with fellow Emerge teachers
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for children and dance
- A background of working or teaching with children, or a love of doing it
- Performance background (dance, theatre, cheer, etc.)
- Has strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates the ability to work with children of all ages
- Readily welcomes feedback and suggestions on how to make classes most effective
- Tenacity and self-motivation: high energy level, self-starter with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated confidence and high level of integrity
- Ability to communicate appropriately with children as well as parents
Pay Range: $18-25/hr based on experience. Negotiable pay for specialized teachings.
As an Assistant Instructor you will assist the lead instructors in teaching children’s dance classes. Our classes include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop primarily with other specialties. We offer both recreation and competitive classes for children ages 3 thru high school level. Assistants may be asked to teach at our White Oak and/or Harrison locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comes to each class in proper dress code, and allows appropriate time for set up
- Teaches each class with enthusiasm and positivity that encourages student participation, interaction, and fun
- Follows direction from the lead instructor
- Collaborates regularly with fellow Emerge teachers
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be in High School or older
- Passion for children and dance
- Performance background (dance, theatre, cheer, etc.)
- Has strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates the ability to work with children of all ages

Pay Range: $12-$18/hr based on experience.
