Re-Opening Guidelines

Mighty Mini Dancers

GENERAL INFO

In Person & Live Classes – We are excited to start back with in-person classes. We will also be hosting the classes virtually for those dancers that aren’t quite ready to come back. If you are planning to utilize our virtual class option, please let us know so we can provide you with access to your child’s class.

Summer Classes/Camps – Since we extended our current season into July, we did have to modify our summer class offerings. You can view the summer class schedule here. We are still holding our daytime summer camps with extra safety precautions. Click here for the summer camp details.

FACILITY CHANGES

We have been working to meet the new guidelines to create a safe environment for all of our dancers and their families. Below are the changes and new procedures that will be implemented.

  • White Oak – We completed a major renovation of the first floor at White Oak. Gone are the cramped hallways and tight lobby spaces. This should allow for a much more comfortable and safe space for dancers and families to enjoy. Studios B, C, and D have shuffled around and have all been increased in overall size. New carpeting has been installed throughout the first floor. Plus lots of other small changes throughout.
  • UV Filtration systems have been installed at both White Oak and Harrison studios to help maintain healthier air.
  • NEW SpotTV systems at both White Oak and Harrison studios. SpotTV is a secure camera system that will allow parents to watch their child’s class from any mobile phone or browser. This is the same secure technology that is used by day cares across the country. Parents will be able to login to their studio account and view ONLY their child’s scheduled class. This is a great solution to watch your child’s class from the car or parking lot and maintain social distancing.
  • Upgraded WiFi at both the White Oak and Harrison studios. We installed new systems with increased speeds and bandwidth to allow you to stream your child’s class and not use your mobile data. At White Oak we installed WiFi outside in the parking lot.
  • All classes will have floor markers to help dancers maintain their 6 foot social distancing while dancing.
  • Seating throughout has been reduce and spaced out to maintain the 6 foot social distancing.
  • We have increased our professional cleaning services to help maintain a clean studio. In addition the teachers and office staff will be cleaning/sanitizing between each class.
  • White Oak – We have added an additional office staff member during our peak times to help keep the studio clean and sanitize the classrooms between classes.
  • Additional hand sanitizer dispensers have been added throughout the studio. We would encourage each dancer to bring their own small hand sanitizer for their personal use.

DANCER/CLASS CHANGES

We are implementing some changes with our classes to help keep dancers safe and maintain the social distancing protocols.

  • Dancers should arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to the start of their class.
  • Dancers/Parents/Guardians must perform a self assessment prior to entering the studio. Anyone exhibiting symptoms or those that have been exposed to COVID-19 should stay home from classes.
  • Dancers ages 8 and under may have 1 parent/guardian accompany them to class(this is a state mandate of 1). Once class starts we encourage the parent/guardian to use our new SpotTV service and watch the class from the parking lot. If you wish to remain in the lobby it is recommended that you wear a face mask.
  • Dancers ages 9 and up are to be dropped off. Parents/Guardians are not permitted to remain in the lobby while the dancer is in class. You may utilize our new SpotTV service and watch the class from the parking lot. If your dancer has a special circumstance that requires a parent/guardian to remain in the lobby please speak to the front desk so we may accommodate.
  • Each class will end 5 minutes early to allow our staff to clean/sanitize between classes. We have a checklist that all of our teachers/staff will follow to make sure we sanitize the best ways possible.
  • All dancers should come dressed and ready for class. Dancers are asked to only bring the minimum items needed for classes. A dedicated storage area will be provided for team dancers that will be sanitized/cleaned regularly. Recreation dancers will be provide with a bin in the classroom to store their bag/shoes. Bins will be swapped out between classes to allow for sanitizing/cleaning.
  • For recreation classes, shoe changes will occur in the classroom to help maintain the safe social distancing protocols. Teachers and assistants will help students change their shoes.
  • Dancers are not required to wear masks during class but are encouraged to wear them while in the hallways. If you wish to have your dancer wear a mask in class please speak to your child’s Dr. to ensure proper health and safety procedures for wearing a mask while dancing.
  • We have eliminated any non essential partnering moves from classes and routines.
  • We have eliminated any hand props that can not be easily sanitized.
  • We are scheduling the use of hand props that can be sanitized to to allow them to be cleaned after each use. (classes may alternate the use of props every other week)
  • We will be reorganizing class locations to ensure that the size of the class reflects the available studio size.
  • Acro/Tumbling Classes – We will have separate stations/options for those dancers that want to practice tricks that require “spotting” and those that do not. Spotting requires the instructor to act as a safety in case the students falls out of the trick. This does involve the instructor catching or stabilizing the dancer. Dancers that want to work on tricks requiring spotting must have a parent/guardian inform the front desk. Dancers will be provided with a colored band to wear during class.

CAMP SPECIFIC

  • All snacks will be individually packaged.
  • All crafts will be individually sorted with dedicated craft items for each participant.
  • All participants will be distanced during classes, snack time, and during crafts.
  • Parents are inivted to attend our week end performance. This will be limited to immedate family only.

POLICY FOR SICK DANCERS

COVID-19 EXPOSURE | Exposure is defined by the CDC as being in close contact (less than 6 feet) with someone for 15 minutes or longer. This includes anyone they have come in contact with in the past 72 hours who have symptoms or have tested positive.

If a dancer has been exposed, they are asked to either stay home for 14 days or have a test performed. After the 14 days with no symptoms and/or after receiving a negative test, the dancer may return to classes.

COVID-19 POSITIVE | If a dancer tests positive, they are asked to follow the CDC and/or Ohio DOH guidelines. They may return to classes after meeting the guidelines from these organizations.

COMMUNICATION | If a dancer tests positive they should notify the studio director immediately. Any classes that they have attended in the past 72 hours will be notified of the potential exposure and should take the necessary precautions. Dancers should determine whether they came in close contact, as defined above, and should take any necessary actions. Dancers from these classes should also take extra precautions to maintain social distancing and wear a mask while at the studio for a period of at least 48 hours.

Legally the studio is not permitted to provide the identity of the infected dancer. We would ask that you voluntarily give us permission to provide your dancers name to the other members of your dancers class to assist in keeping them safe.

STAFF

  • All non-teaching staff will wear face masks while in the lobby, studios, and general areas.
  • All teaching staff are to wear masks while in the lobby and general areas. Teachers may remove masks for health and safety reasons while teaching class.
  • All staff are to perform a self assessment before entering the studio. All staff will have their temperature checked upon entry.
  • All teaching staff will wash/sanitize hands before and after each class.
  • All non-teaching staff to wash/sanitize hands upon entry to the studio and at various frequencies during their shift.

We will continue to monitor the safety measures and guidelines provided by the state health experts. Guidelines are subject to change and we will update this page with new or modified guidelines.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for you, other dancers, family members, and staff members. You must follow all posted instructions while at Emerge. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can cause illness and death. According to the CDC senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By entering Emerge, you voluntarily assume all risk of exposure to COVID-19.
